New to PHYLUM: RETROSUPERFUTURE, the Milan eyewear house that has been cutting frames from Italian acetate since 2007. Every pair is designed in Milan and mounted with Carl Zeiss lenses, and the shapes tend toward the bold: sharp rectangles, upswept corners, frames that announce themselves rather than disappear.
We’re opening with seven styles. Fred 2.0 and Maneval are the graphic ones, narrow and angular. Senta and Balarm run wider and softer, Ra is the most compact in the range, and Amata Estate brings a lighter summer palette in Mandarino and Menta. Z is the outlier, with thin metal rims carrying thick thermoform acetate temples, detailed to resemble a liquified ring of Saturn.
