New to PHYLUM: Wolf Ceramics, a small pottery studio in Hood River, Oregon, where every piece is thrown by hand on the wheel. Their forms come out of years of refinement rather than trend, and the glazes are mixed in house, which is why no two pieces land quite the same.
We’re starting with three of their core shapes. The Wolf Mug is the studio’s signature, a 10 oz form with a distinctive square handle, made for people who have a favorite mug and know it. The Big Daddy is the same idea at twice the size, 20 oz for anyone who thinks of coffee by the pot. The Wolf Cup goes without a handle entirely and does the work of a water glass, a wine glass and a tumbler at once. Each comes in a small run of glazes, from the warm coral bands of Poppy to the deep speckle of Harvest Moon.
