1956 marked the year the French Navy's Marine Nationale acquired their first purpose-built divers' watches, a milestone in watch collecting history. The 1956 Marine Quartz is AV86's tribute to that moment, built around the classical elements: straight lugs, an acrylic-filled bezel, and big luminous markers. The Navy and Off White two-tone dial references the dual-tone instrument dials of post-war naval watches.

The 41mm case is 316L high precision stainless steel with a screw-down caseback, and each one is individually numbered. Inside, a TMI VH31 quartz movement drives a smooth sweep-seconds hand that moves continuously rather than ticking, replicating the feel of a mechanical watch. A double-domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating protects the dial. 20 ATM / 200 meters of water resistance, on a Cordura canvas strap with pin buckle.
